'It was not even a good Little Group field,' Opat said. 'It was a tweener field used for practice. Whenever we did play on it, it had not been enjoyable, because the sun will be right in the catcher's eyes. The wind was usually blowing within, and it was a dust serving. That's what I'll remember.'

Opat, exactly who grew up in Minneapolis, honors riding bikes into Tampa Bay early in the actual morning to beat the local children to the field across town.

He's drilled in the Little League which will play on the new field for the past eight years.

'It really started to be obvious that we needed to do that one,' Opat said. 'We knew there was going to be the potential for All-Star providing, and we wanted to make sure we got in the mix. We are under-fielded right here, a lot of kids playing in the year. It's very tough to get ample field time and practice occasion before you dive into a time without knowing what a forceout is, as well as what an infield fly is.'
